Betheny Lyke

Betheny Lyke, EdD, supports school districts as they create, implement, and enhance MTSS. She also leads the District and School Improvement Center at AIR, where she creates and coordinates the implementation of research and evidence-based systems. She has extensive experience working with elementary, middle, and high schools. She focuses her work on student-centered data-based decisions to ensure all students receive the support they need to be successful. Dr. Lyke has served in multiple leadership roles at the school and district-level. Most noteworthy, after being assigned as principal to a state-identified low-performing high school, which was facing widespread discipline problems, poverty, and consistently low achievement, she successfully implemented a variety of turnaround strategies, which led to a dramatic reduction in student expulsions and an increase in student achievement within a year. Dr. Lyke earned her master’s degree in school leadership from Northwestern University and her doctoral degree in organizational change and school leadership from Roosevelt University.
