Steven Prater

Steven Prater, MA, provides consultation and technical assistance to state and district leaders on MTSS. He has extensive expertise in implementation of MTSS at the school level, data-based decision making, and intensive intervention. In over 20 years in education, he has worked as a classroom teacher, school psychologist, campus administrator, and manager of state-level technical assistance. He has led the implementation of MTSS on multiple campuses as a campus administrator and was the state lead for implementing data-based individualization (DBI) in a partnership between the National Center for Intensive Intervention and the Texas Education Agency. He earned his masters in school psychology from Texas State University.
